The Midnight Lotus Matki Pot draws its charm from the stillness of a lotus pond under moonlight. The matki form, wide at the belly, tapering gently to a narrow neck is a shape steeped in Indian tradition, once used for storing water. Here, it is reimagined in Jaipur’s blue pottery craft by master artisan Gopal Saini, using a clay-free blend of quartz and glass shaped with precision.
The navy base becomes the calm waters, while pink and yellow lotuses bloom across the surface, each hand-painted petal outlined in fine cobalt lines. The surrounding green leaves lend a natural vibrancy, making the florals appear as if floating in gentle motion. Once glazed and low-fired, the piece gains a rich sheen and lasting durability. Ideal for displaying on a console, dining table, or as a focal point in festive décor, this pot carries both the elegance of Mughal-inspired floral art and the grounded grace of Rajasthani tradition.
